Instructors

Harvard undergraduates serve as instructors in PSIL, committing several months to the program. The instructional team is formed during the fall semester, when curriculum development begins in close collaboration with the Program Director. Each instructor designs a learning module based on their academic interests and expertise. In January, instructors travel to India for approximately ten days to implement the program on the ground.

Elizabeth Zheng

Elizabeth (Liz) Zheng is a senior studying Applied Mathematics and Sociology with a citation in French. Originally from Pennsylvania, she is involved in several activities at Harvard — she draws for the Advocate, serves as a teaching assistant in the Mathematics Department, and works for the Office of International Education. In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading, biking, and learning new languages. Outside the classroom, Liz also loves oil painting, browsing new cameras on eBay, and reading French literature. A fun fact about her is that she’s an avid amateur photographer!

Brandon Campbell

Brandon Campbell is a senior at Harvard College concentrating in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He is from Detroit, Michigan, and is passionate about sustainability, health equity, and community-centered leadership. On campus, Brandon conducts hematopoietic stem cell and gene-editing research in the Wagers Lab and serves in leadership roles supporting premedical students and health disparities work through his role as a Director of Research for the Health Disparities Think Tank. He also works to address food insecurity and financial wellness through projects like the Harvard Undergraduate Food Security Initiative and volunteer income tax assistance programming. He loves cooking, fishing, gardening, and exercise. A fun fact about Brandon is that he dislikes Pinocchio's pizza despite Pinocchio's being considered a staple of Harvard for generations.

Brandon Campbell

Brooke Decho

Brooke Decho is a senior in Leverett House concentrating in Environmental Science and Engineering, with a citation in Spanish Language. Originally from Roscoe, Illinois, about two hours west of Chicago, she is passionate about sustainability, clean energy, and the intersection of environmental science and technology. On campus, she is involved with the Harvard Undergraduate Clean Energy Group, the Harvard Engineering Society, and works as a tutor. In her free time, Brooke enjoys playing soccer and tennis, spending time outdoors, cooking, and connecting with friends.

Joy An

Joy An is a third-year student studying Chemistry/Physics and Comparative Literature with a citation in Spanish. She is originally from Seattle, Washington. Outside of classes, Joy works in a metallurgy lab on steel recycling methods, and also works as a Teaching Fellow for the Chemistry department. She loves to dance and is the director of the Harvard-Radcliffe Modern Dance Company. She also loves trivia and competes with Harvard’s quizbowl team. A fun fact about Joy is that she loves playing card games, especially Hearts, Spades, and Gin Rummy. She is terrible at poker.

Kat Ravichandran

Kat Ravichandran is a senior studying Computer Science and Philosophy with a secondary in Economics. From Charlottesville, Virginia, Kat is president of the Harvard Sports Analysis Collective and the the Crimson Cellos, Harvard’s premier all-cello ensemble. In her free time, Kat enjoys wildlife photography, learning new instruments, and volunteering coaching basketball to local Cambridge elementary students. A fun fact about Kat is that she is a ‘budding’ plant mom.
